Using a reliable low-speed flywheel for short-term energy storage and a reliable engine-generator set for unlimited long-term backup, the Astronic system eliminates the need for troublesome batteries and the extra expense of a separate emergency generator normally required with typical UPS systems.

The Series PNB represents a fully packaged unit complete with all controls, flywheel MG set, and engine-generator set on a single skid. Larger ratings of up to 800Kva are provided with separate mounting packages. All systems are provided complete except for fuel tank and engine muffler kit options.
